News from the Middle School classroom

November 11, 2018

As the dark silence of winter settled outside, things inside at PNA ere hopping as always! After a spirited week of Halloween and other dress-up fun, students in middle school turned their attention to our Fall Concert and other important matters:

Students shared their favorite writing pieces with each other while writing new ones,  reflected on their reading lives so far this school year, and set goals for the coming trimester. They worked on presentations and projects in Science and Social Studies classes and finished chapters in Math with individual and team tests. Electives in sewing, mandala painting, badminton, and manga comic drawing are now truly underway. Green beans for Thanksgiving Blessing began to trickle in. Lunchroom tables were welcomed by all and were well worth the wait, all agreed!

In the midst of all this, our middle schoolers joined all the other PNA students to rehearse and deliver a rousing musical concert and family potluck. Watching our 8th grade students play the music as our tiniest sang their song; hearing our tiny but mighty PNA band accompany the entire student body; and enjoying the rousing finale where every student ROARED: all were a tangible reminder that PNA truly lives its mission to encourage confidence and independence in every student. A packed audience of family and friends ate and laughed and applauded their courage and their hard work.

It was a great week!
