Latest news from the 2nd Grade classes

Welcome Back!

We had a great start to our year in second grade last week.  Students were excited and ready to be back and to explore our new building.  Here are some quick glimpses of some of what we did as we started to settle into a positive learning community.

THANK YOU!!!

Thank you all so much for an amazing year that went by way too quickly!  I so enjoyed teaching and learning with each of your kiddos and appreciate all of the support that you gave throughout the year.  Please drop by and say hello next year...I'm going to miss these...

A little bit of this, A little bit of that

Our salmon mural is up!  We had a little unveiling the other day in the cold and rain but that didn't dampen the spirits of the second graders who were there!   Look for it the next time you head to the airport...it was definitely a labor of love for the second and...

Our Adventure

The end of the year is always jam-packed with lots of fun events but one of the most anticipated is our annual overnight spring field trip.  These trips are fun for the students to be sure, but they also offer a great opportunity to practice independence and personal...

Through Their Eyes

One of my favorite writing units each year is the poetry unit.  I love how students at this age say what they're thinking and I love looking at the world through their eyes.  Every year, I am amazed at what these young poets come up with and grateful that I get a peek...

Flexibility is Key

This week the second graders were running this way and that as they balanced a variety of different projects and expectations.  Just another reason why teaching and learning at PNA is so great...we can work on projects authentically and prioritize our time to best...

Science Fair

Two little words that strike fear into parents everywhere!  In all seriousness though, science fairs can be amazing opportunities for students to practice important creativity, critical thinking and communication skills. The sky is the limit for students when it comes...
