We are looking for a dynamic team player who is passionate about teaching middle school students. PNA is a small, independent private school in Anchorage, Alaska, valuing strong academic programming, project-based learning, and social and emotional development. Our Middle School teaching position is flexible and works closely with the team to meet the needs of our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
Duties Include:
- Designing and implementing developmentally appropriate standards-based lessons and projects
- Supporting the social and emotional development of the children
- Helping children build independence
- Maintaining a positive and professional relationship with students, parents, and colleagues through clear communication
- Traveling with students, locally and out-of-state
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field
- Previous teaching experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching middle school students social studies, science, math, and/or language arts
- Able/willing to teach multiple subject areas
